If a tree falls…all about Tree By-laws
Trees are an important element of a municipality’s natural and cultural landscape and are recognized as providing environmental and economic benefits, as well as contributing to human health and quality of life. The City of Kingston Tree By-Law was enacted in order to control the removal of trees and to promote good forestry and arboricultural practices to protect and enhance the municipality’s tree cover.
Come and learn how a tree by-law can be used to protect and manage an important natural resource, as well as complement the land use planning process.
